The Double-Barrel Shotgun is a firearm in Dying Light. It can be purchased from shops, found in loot caches and rarely, in the trunks of police sedans and vans.
Overview[]
The Double-Barrel Shotgun was initially a rare find, however as the game progresses, it's rarity becomes more common to find in shops and police vans. Prior to the Enhanced Edition, this was the only shotgun variant available in-game.
Primarily, it can be found in the ruins of Fort Jefferson after completing the side quest Gassed Up. The gun can be also found during the story mission The Saviors, during the travel inside the tunnel leading to Sector 0. This can be found on the catwalk in the sewer above the Goon, or next to a few dead bodies. One can be found next to a body at a nearby destroyed building in the Slums. Another location of the weapon can be found in the Museum on the left of the first combat room.
It has the highest amount of firepower in the game making it the most powerful, but its accuracy is terrible unless at close range and must be reloaded after two shots.

Trivia[]
- The Double-Barrel Shotgun appears to mainly resemble a Stoeger/IGA Coach Gun with a nickel finish. Unlike most of the firearms in-game where they are more based on various models of guns, this is one of the few firearms in the game that is more based on it's real life model.
- In Dying Light: The Following, one of the guard survivors at Jasir's farm is seen holding a Double-Barrel Shotgun.
- This is the preferred weapon of Jeff.
- Even at lower levels Double-Barrels can quickly dispatch any zombie, including volatile. Although they are very loud they can get you out of a sticky situation.
