Dying Light Wiki

Cleavers are a type of sharp melee weapon featured in Dying Light.

In the early game, they possess decent damage and fast speed against lesser enemies such as Biters, but are not recommended against tougher enemies such as Demolishers and Volatiles.

These can be upgraded ultimately, to become one of the best weapons in the game. Don't use it too much though, the durability on all cleavers are not ideal, but do work with the time you currently have.
