Events of Dying Light Edit
Shakur is a survivor living in a garage located northwest of the Fishermen's Village. During the main story quest Pact with Rais, the village becomes overrun with infected and Kyle Crane, while working for Kadir "Rais" Suleiman, secures the area and clears it of zombies before attempting to collect a tribute for Rais. Later, a guard named Musa expresses his belief that Gas Mask Man is responsible, and asks Crane to track him down.
Crane arrives at the garage and confronts Shakur, who defends himself by saying that someone else from the village was deliberately wearing a gas mask and trying to falsely accuse him of the crime. He also explains that he knows who was trying to frame him. However, before he reveals who the culprit is to Crane, he must first fetch his lost bag, at the bottom of a nearby lake. Upon handing over the bag, he reveals that while he doesn't exactly know who it was, he does know that it was someone from the village wearing a gas mask.
Following the quest, Shakur is not found in the garage and his status and whereabouts are unknown.
- Shakur believes that the Harran Virus is spread through the air, and that th air is now contaminated, thus his reason for him wearing the gas mask and having a bag of what he believes to be "clean" air.
- Shakur regularly refers to himself in the third person, and displays clear symptoms of mental health issues.
- It's revealed that Shakur cannot swim, explaining his reason for having Crane to fetch the bag for him.
